Compassionate, supportive, and non-judgmental, they understand the pervasive and enduring impact of trauma. TurnAround’s trauma therapy includes counseling for victims and survivors of domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault and sex trafficking. Both individual and group counseling is offered. Therapy focuses on providing a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment to facilitate healing.

Tasks are provided for people to practice between sessions with the purpose of helping survivors introduce effective, practical skills into their lives in the face of distress with the intention of replacing other unhealthy and negative behaviors. Topics include:
- Mindfulness: the practice of being in the present and acknowledging thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as they arise without attempting to control them.
- Distress tolerance: the process of learning to cope during a crisis, particularly in situations that are unable to be changed, by meeting the situation with acceptance rather than resistance with how it ‘should’ be.
- Interpersonal Effectiveness: the ability to voice needs and say no when necessary, while still maintaining self-respect and relationships with others.
- Emotional Regulation: the capacity to manage emotions so they do not control thoughts and behaviors.
