Why Volunteers are Vital to Our Work
At TurnAround, we support all survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking, and we provide our clients with an extensive suite of free comprehensive services to choose from. Volunteers are absolutely crucial to this work because when you donate your time, energy, and commitment, we can serve our clients more efficiently. Without your support, we would not be able to reach as many communities and families as we do, so we thank you for supporting our work, and most importantly, for supporting survivors. Thank you for standing with us!
Two Ways to Volunteer Tracks
Special Event Support
Special Event Support serves as a great way to jump in and get a feel for volunteering with TurnAround! This hands-on way to volunteer does not require a large time commitment, background checks, or partaking in our full onboarding process. We have various special events and opportunities for Special Event Support volunteering throughout the year, including (but not limited to):
- Our annual Purple Poetry Book Release Party
- Our annual Denim Day events
- Being a Volunteer Donor and/or Gift-wrapping for our Hope for the Holidays program
Full Onboarding
Our full-track volunteer opportunity; great if you’d prefer a more long-term, ongoing volunteer role at TurnAround! This track provides volunteers with full access to the foundational learning material found on our Virtual Learning Center, personalized support from our Volunteer Coordinator in the form of guided review sessions, and one-on-one support check-ins. This track also allows you to receive a Mandated Reporter Certificate and requires background checks. By completing our full onboarding process, volunteers will gain access to the full range of volunteer opportunities available at TurnAround, including (but not limited to):
- Crisis Helpline Support
- Pantry Support
- After-hours Front Desk Support
