Our History

TurnAround has been the area’s leading provider of support services for victims and survivors of sexual trauma for more than 40 years. We opened our doors in 1978 to serve Baltimore County survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. Since then, we’ve expanded into Baltimore City and Howard County and developed programming for child survivors. In 2011, the agency launched the state’s first comprehensive program focused on commercial sexual exploitation. Highly regarded experts in coordinated crisis care, we are now the designated rape crisis center for Baltimore County and City and the designated Regional Navigator Program (RNPG) in Baltimore County, responding to children and young adults of all genders whom local social service departments and law enforcement suspect have been sex trafficked. We began working with individuals, and now work with systems at the community level and seek change at the government level.
